Advisory & Mentoring
Sometimes you just need someone to help you work it through with you.
You might have the numbers but not know what they mean. You might be facing a decision you keep going backwards and forwards on. Or you might simply know that something in the financial side of the business is not working the way you want it to.
One-to-one advisory gives us the space to slow it down, look at what is really happening and work through it together.
1. Understand Your Numbers
If reports, margins, percentages or financial terminology leave you wondering what you are actually meant to pay attention to, we can unpack the numbers together and connect them back to what is happening in your business.
2. Cash Flow
When money seems to come in and disappear just as quickly, we can look at the timing and movement of cash, what is putting pressure on it and what may need to change.
3. Profitability
Being busy and making sales does not automatically mean the business is rewarding you properly. We can look more closely at where profit is being made, where it may be disappearing and what deserves your attention.
4. Pricing
If you are second-guessing what to charge, whether your pricing still works or whether there is enough margin in what you sell, we can work through the financial side of the decision.
5. Business Decisions
Hiring. Spending. Increasing your own pay. Adding capacity. Taking on an opportunity. Sometimes you need to understand the financial implications before deciding what happens next.
6. Planning What Comes Next
When you want to move away from reacting month to month, we can use what you know about the business now to think more intentionally about priorities, goals and the next steps.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Bring the question. We’ll work through it together.
You do not need perfectly prepared reports, a polished business plan or even a neatly defined problem before booking an advisory conversation.
Sometimes you know exactly what you want to work through. Sometimes you just know something does not feel right.
Either is a perfectly good place to start.
1. Tell me what is going on
Start with the question, decision or financial concern that is taking up space in your head.
It might be cash flow, pricing, profit, owner pay, hiring, growth or simply: “I do not understand why the business feels like this.”
You remain the person leading your business. My role is to help you make those decisions with better financial awareness and support.

2. We look at what is actually happening
Where useful, we will work with the financial information you already have and connect the numbers back to what is happening in the real business.
You do not need to know which report to look at or what questions you “should” be asking.
You remain the person leading your business. My role is to help you make those decisions with better financial awareness and support.

3. We work through the options
Advisory is not about me handing you a generic answer.
We look at the situation together, consider the financial implications and work through the options so you can make a decision that makes sense for your business.

4. You leave knowing what needs attention next
The aim is not to give you more information to think about.
It is to help you leave the conversation with better understanding, a clearer sense of your options and practical next steps you can act on.
You remain the person leading your business. My role is to help you make those decisions with better financial awareness and support.
Talk to Me About Advisory
“After just two consulting sessions with Shelly, I started seeing my numbers in a completely different way. For the first time, I felt empowered by them instead of fearful of them.
The sessions helped me understand what the numbers were actually telling me, where I needed to pay attention, and how I could start using that information more confidently in the business. Instead of feeling overwhelmed or avoiding the financial side, I now feel far more capable of engaging with it.
What stood out most was how practical and approachable the process felt. I did not feel judged for what I did not know. I felt supported, guided and much more confident about the decisions I need to make next.”
