You started a business.
Nobody handed you a manual for the financial side of it.
Business Foundations is a practical learning experience designed to help you understand what is happening financially in your business, build stronger habits and systems, and feel more capable of making decisions with your numbers.
You do not need to become an accountant. You do need to understand enough to lead your business with greater awareness, confidence and intention.
- Understand the numbers that actually matter in your business
- Build practical financial systems and habits
- Get more intentional about cash flow, pricing and profit
- Ask questions in a supportive, non-judgemental space
- Leave with practical actions you can apply in your own business
WHAT YOU’LL WORK THROUGH
Five practical modules. One stronger foundation for your business.
Business Foundations takes you through the financial and business fundamentals in a practical order, helping you understand what matters, put better habits in place and make more intentional decisions as the programme progresses.
You do not need to arrive knowing all the answers. We work through it together, one step at a time.
1. Business Foundations
Legal structures & compliance essentials
Understand the foundations your business needs behind the scenes, including business structures, key compliance responsibilities and what you need to have in place as the owner.
2. Budget, Time Value & Pricing for Profit
Know what your time and work really need to earn
Start connecting the cost of running your business, the value of your time and the way you price what you sell, so your pricing decisions are based on more than instinct or what everyone else charges.
3. Intentional Money Management
Give the money somewhere to go before it disappears
Learn a practical way to manage the money coming into the business, plan for different financial commitments and become more intentional about what the business can afford.
4. Your Money Style & Building Better Habits
Understand your numbers, and the patterns shaping how you respond to them
Build a simple rhythm for checking in with the financial side of your business, then identify your own money style and explore how it may influence the way you spend, avoid, plan, price or make decisions.
The aim is not to label you or tell you that one style is “better”. It is to help you recognise your patterns, understand how they show up in the business and make more intentional choices going forward.
5. CEO Time, Mindset & Growth
Step out of reaction mode and lead the business forward
Look at the habits, beliefs and decisions that shape the way you lead your business, then create space to think ahead, set priorities and approach growth with stronger financial awareness.
6. Business Foundations Community
The conversation does not have to end when the programme does
After Business Foundations, you become part of our alumni community, giving you an ongoing space to stay connected, continue learning and be around other business owners who understand that building a stronger business is a process.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Learn it. Talk it through. Apply it to your own business.
Business Foundations is designed to help you engage with the financial side of your business in a way that feels practical and manageable.
We work in a small-group environment where there is space to ask questions, hear how other business owners are approaching similar challenges and connect what you are learning back to your own business.
Business Foundations is about becoming more financially aware and more capable, not becoming financially perfect.
Come as you are
You do not need perfect books, sophisticated financial knowledge or a business that has everything figured out.
Bring the business you are actually running, including the messy bits.
Learn in plain language
We take financial and business concepts out of accountant-speak and make them easier to understand and use.
The goal is not to teach you accounting. It is to help you understand enough to participate confidently in the financial management of your business.
Work with your own business in mind
The sessions are practical. As we move through each module, you will be encouraged to think about what the concepts mean for your own pricing, money habits, systems and decisions.
Learn alongside other business owners
There is something powerful about realising you are not the only person who has avoided a number, guessed at a price or wondered where all the money went.
The group gives you a space to learn from other experiences as well as your own.
Leave with something to do
Business Foundations is not designed to give you a thick workbook that sits untouched on a shelf.
Each part of the programme should help you identify practical actions you can take to strengthen the way you run the financial side of your business.
Keep growing after the programme
Finishing the five modules is not the end of the journey.
You become part of the Business Foundations community, where the relationships, learning and conversations can continue as your business develops.
“Shelly has such a passion for helping small business owners build solid financial structures, and it shows in the way she teaches. She simplifies financial concepts so they feel practical, manageable and easy to implement.
One of the biggest shifts for me has been learning how to allocate money intentionally through her “pocket strategy”. Knowing my debit orders are covered already gives me a greater sense of calm and control.
I’m now thinking differently about future goals too, from everyday expenses to things like upgrading my laptop in a few years. It has shifted my mindset from simply managing money to planning for growth.
Business Foundations is giving me practical systems, more confidence and a completely different perspective on my business finances.”
